Preventing family violence and violence against women is a responsibility that belongs to us all.
Today, as I join thousands of Victorians for the 16th annual Walk Against Family Violence in Melbourne, I remember Isla Bell and the 84 women and children who have lost their lives this year at the hands of men’s violence. My heart goes out to these women and their friends and family.
I walked today because I want my young sons to grow up embracing healthy masculinity and always respecting women.
More than one in three women have experienced violence from men, and this is unacceptable.
Together, we can work to change this reality.
