My question to the Minister about the dangerous near miss incident outside Coburg High School. The community needs an electric school zone sign installed urgently.

My question is for the Minister of Roads and Road Safety. At 8:10 AM on Thursday, 6 February, a Coburg High School student was nearly hit by a car running a red light at speed in the bus lane. This is an ongoing issue in Coburg’s Bell Street at Alva Grove – despite recent reductions in the speed limit. This dangerous near miss incident highlights serious safety concerns for pedestrians, particularly the young students of Coburg high School.
Unfortunately, the reduction in speed has not reduced the risk taking and dangerous driving of road users. This change in the speed limit needs to be more visible and installed urgently for the safety of our students.
Can the Minister advise when a 40 km/h electric school zone sign will be installed at this location to avoid this near miss from becoming a tragedy?
