Our night of power was just that.
Here’s what our women of power had to say at our March Forward event last night:
- Chinakila kicked off the night, showing us how joy can be a fierce form of resistance
- Tigist reminded us that even activism needs a recharge, rest and pause and are just as powerful as action
- Nazanin declared that women should never accept oppression as our truth
- Anna inspired us to wear our names with pride, celebrating the cultural roots that shape us
- Hannah, the youngest voice in the room, proved that entrepreneurship is the key to independence
We cannot do this work alone. We need men to be a part of the solution. We don’t have time to wait for 130 years to achieve gender pay parity.
Shoutout to all the women and our ancestors who’s shoulders we stand on to continue the work we do in a purposeful and meaningful way.
Shoutout to my grandmothers who I am proudly named after – who’s mana is always with me.
